The VALUE COLLECTION 837-101 is a Schedule 80 PVC pipe bushing designed to reduce a 3/4-inch line down to a 1/2-inch fitting. With a spigot on the male end and a slip socket on the female end, this bushing provides a solvent-weld connection suitable for pressurized water, chemical, and irrigation piping systems. Schedule 80 wall thickness gives it greater pressure rating and impact resistance compared to Schedule 40 fittings. Plumbers and pipefitters install this bushing when transitioning between pipe sizes within a PVC system without breaking into a full tee or coupling arrangement.
This bushing is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, irrigation distribution, and industrial process piping where PVC is the specified material. The spigot-by-slip end configuration allows it to insert directly into a standard slip-socket fitting on one end while accepting a slip fitting on the other, keeping transitions compact. It is appropriate for both above-ground and below-grade installations where PVC is code-approved.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 80 PVC piping systems using 3/4-inch to 1/2-inch spigot-by-slip reducing connections.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC. Solvent-weld all connections using a PVC primer and cement rated for Schedule 80 fittings. Depressurize and drain the line completely before cutting into any existing piping. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer instructions before restoring system pressure.
