The VALUE COLLECTION 832803PS is a metric hex socket set screw designed for industrial and mechanical assembly applications. It features a flat point tip, which distributes clamping force evenly against a shaft or mating surface without marring it. The screw is manufactured from alloy steel at Grade 14.9 (45H), providing high tensile and torsional strength suited to demanding holding and locking tasks. A black oxide finish offers mild corrosion resistance and reduces light reflectivity on exposed hardware. This fastener is driven with a 10 mm hex key and conforms to DIN 913 and ISO 4026 standards. It is sold individually and is appropriate for maintenance, repair, and original-equipment assembly work.
This set screw is used wherever a threaded fastener must bear against a shaft, keyway, or flat surface to prevent rotational or axial movement. Typical applications include shaft collars, shaft couplings, pulleys, sprockets, and gearbox components in industrial machinery, HVAC equipment, and mechanical drive systems. The M20 x 2.50 thread and 45 mm overall length suit mid-to-large shaft diameters. Machinists, millwrights, and maintenance technicians working to metric fastener specifications will find this a standard stocking item for equipment servicing and assembly.
Designed as a standard DIN 913 and ISO 4026 metric set screw for use in any threaded M20 x 2.50 mm through-hole or tapped bore requiring a flat point grub screw.
Set screws of this type are installed by machinists, millwrights, or qualified maintenance technicians using a calibrated 10 mm hex key or hex bit driver. Always de-energize and lock out the equipment before accessing shaft assemblies. Thread engagement and drive torque should comply with the equipment manufacturer specifications and applicable standards such as ASME B18.3. Avoid over-driving, which can strip the hex socket or cause thread galling in the mating tapped hole.
