The VALUE COLLECTION 831329PS is an M16 x 2.00 x 35 mm cone point set screw manufactured from alloy steel at Grade 14.9 (45H). Set screws of this type are headless fasteners used to lock a component — such as a collar, gear, or pulley — against a shaft by applying direct axial pressure through the cone tip. The cone point bites into or seats against a mating surface to resist rotation and axial movement. Drive is internal hex (Allen key), requiring an 8 mm hex key. A black oxide finish provides mild corrosion resistance and reduces galling during installation. This fastener is installed by maintenance technicians, machinists, and mechanical assemblers in industrial and commercial applications.
This set screw is suited for shaft-locking and component-retention applications in mechanical assemblies where a headless fastener profile is required. Typical uses include securing hubs, couplings, sprockets, and collars to shafts in machinery, conveyors, and drive systems. The cone point geometry makes it well suited for permanent or semi-permanent installations where the point can indent a soft shaft or seat in a drilled cone recess. Metric threading (M16 x 2.00) and DIN 914 / ISO 4027 conformance make it appropriate for equipment manufactured to metric fastener standards.
Designed as a metric-standard cone point set screw conforming to DIN 914 and ISO 4027, suitable for use in any mechanical assembly requiring an M16 x 2.00 threaded headless fastener.
Installation is performed by machinists or mechanical technicians using an 8 mm hex key or appropriate hex driver. Ensure the mating threaded bore is clean and free of debris before driving the screw. De-energize and lock out any rotating equipment before installing or adjusting set screws per applicable safety procedures. Avoid over-torquing, which can shear the fastener or damage the mating shaft surface.
