The VALUE COLLECTION 831088PS is a metric set screw designed for mechanical assemblies where a flush or recessed fastener is required to lock components in place without a protruding head. Machined from alloy steel to Grade 14.9 (45H), this screw delivers high tensile and torsional strength suitable for demanding industrial and mechanical applications. A black oxide finish provides mild corrosion resistance and reduces light reflection. The cone point tip concentrates clamping force to bite into a shaft or mating surface, creating a secure hold against rotation or axial movement. Drive is via a 3.00 mm hex key socket. This fastener is used by machinists, maintenance technicians, and mechanical assembly professionals across manufacturing and equipment service settings.
This set screw is sized M6 x 1.00 thread pitch with an overall length of 45 mm, conforming to DIN 914 and ISO 4027 standards. It is suited for shaft collars, pulleys, gears, couplings, and similar components where the fastener must sit below or flush with the surface. The cone point geometry makes it appropriate for permanent or semi-permanent installations where the point is intended to indent or engage the mating shaft. Minimum order quantity is 5 pieces.
Designed as a DIN 914 and ISO 4027 compliant metric set screw for use in any M6 x 1.00 threaded bore requiring a cone point fastener in industrial, mechanical, or equipment assembly applications.
Installation requires a 3.00 mm hex key or Allen driver. Ensure the threaded bore is clean and free of debris before installation. De-energize or lock out any machinery before installing or removing set screws in rotating or powered assemblies, in accordance with applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Do not exceed the torque capacity of the hex socket drive, and avoid reusing set screws that show signs of deformation at the drive or point.
