The VALUE COLLECTION 825054MSC is a serrated flange bolt designed for secure fastening in mechanical and structural assemblies. It features a 1/4-20 UNC thread, a 5/8-inch length under head, and a fully threaded shank, giving it solid thread engagement across the full bolt length. The integrated serrated flange distributes clamping load over a wider surface area and bites into the mating material to resist loosening under vibration. Made from Grade 5 steel with a zinc-plated finish for corrosion resistance, this bolt meets ASME B18.6.3 and SAE J429 standards. It is installed using a standard hex drive and is suitable for use by maintenance technicians, HVAC installers, plumbers, and general tradespeople working with metal assemblies.
This bolt is used in light-duty to medium-duty fastening applications where vibration resistance is a priority. The serrated flange eliminates the need for a separate lock washer in many applications, streamlining assembly. Typical use cases include mounting brackets, equipment panels, sheet metal assemblies, and mechanical supports in residential and commercial settings. The zinc plating provides moderate corrosion protection suitable for indoor and sheltered outdoor environments. The fully threaded design makes it appropriate for through-bolting applications or use with threaded inserts and nuts.
Designed as a standard 1/4-20 UNC serrated flange bolt suitable for use in any application accepting 1/4-20 threaded fasteners with a hex drive head conforming to ASME B18.6.3 dimensions.
Install using a standard hex wrench or socket driver sized for the hex head. Ensure the mating surface is clean and free of debris so the serrated flange can seat properly and engage the material. Do not use an additional lock washer under the flange, as the serrations are intended to serve that function. Follow applicable mechanical codes and equipment manufacturer torque guidelines when tightening.
