The VALUE COLLECTION 808-040 is a Schedule 80 PVC 90-degree elbow fitting designed for use in pressure-rated piping systems. Manufactured from rigid PVC, this elbow features female iron pipe thread (FIPT) connections on both ends, allowing it to thread directly onto male-threaded pipe or fittings without solvent welding. At 4 inches in size, it is suited for higher-flow applications where a full quarter-turn change of direction is required. The heavier Schedule 80 wall thickness provides increased pressure capacity and impact resistance compared to Schedule 40, making it appropriate for industrial, commercial, and demanding plumbing installations. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers of this type of fitting.
This fitting is used in commercial and industrial plumbing, irrigation, chemical distribution, and water treatment piping systems that require a durable, corrosion-resistant threaded connection. The FIPT x FIPT configuration is common in systems where disassembly or field adjustment is preferred over solvent-welded joints. It is appropriate for cold and moderate-temperature liquid service within the pressure ratings of Schedule 80 PVC. The 4-inch size handles substantial flow volumes and is frequently found in main distribution lines, pump discharge runs, and process piping layouts.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 4-inch Schedule 80 PVC threaded piping systems using standard NPT pipe threads.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing any existing fittings or making new connections. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before engaging the FIPT connection, and tighten with a pipe wrench to proper engagement without over-torquing the PVC threads. PVC fittings should not be used with steam, compressed air, or fluids exceeding the rated temperature and pressure limits for Schedule 80 PVC.
