The VALUE COLLECTION 76-1200-C is a solid carbide Woodruff keyseat cutter designed for cutting semicircular keyseats in shafts and mating components. It features a 3/8 inch (0.3750 inch) cutter diameter with a straight tooth configuration and a cutting width of 1/32 inch (0.0312 inch). The micrograin carbide substrate is coated with AlTiN for extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. With 8 teeth and a shank-mount connection, this cutter is suited for use on manual milling machines and CNC machining centers. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this type of cutter for keyseat operations on precision shaft work across a broad range of workpiece materials.
This cutter is rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys including titanium. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance, making it appropriate for harder alloys and higher-speed applications. The 3/8 inch shank diameter mounts directly in a standard collet or end mill holder. The neck diameter of 0.2000 inch and neck length of 0.3750 inch provide clearance for shallow-depth keyseat cuts. Overall length is 2.5 inches, keeping the tool rigid in most standard setups. It ships individually, with a minimum order quantity of one.
Designed as a shank-mount Woodruff keyseat cutter compatible with manual vertical mills and CNC machining centers accepting a 3/8 inch collet or end mill holder. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys and titanium.
This cutter is installed by machinists into a collet or end mill holder matching the 3/8 inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing cutters. Verify collet runout before cutting to avoid premature edge wear on the carbide teeth. Use cutting fluid or coolant appropriate for the workpiece material to protect the coating and extend tool life.
