The VALUE COLLECTION 724-6469 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous metal machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, this tool handles the heat and wear demands of interrupted cuts and high-feed roughing passes. The 1/2 inch diameter cutter carries 3 flutes in a right-hand, high-helix configuration and is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry. Length of cut is 3 inches and overall length is 5 inches. At 0.02 pounds, it is a compact tool suited for use in standard vertical mills, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills.
This end mill is suited for roughing operations in job shop, production machining, and maintenance-repair environments. The high-helix flute geometry promotes chip evacuation and reduces chatter during full-width slotting or side-milling passes. The TiN coating adds surface hardness and reduces friction, extending tool life in steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar materials. Right-hand cutting direction is compatible with standard spindle rotation on conventional milling equipment. The 1/2 inch shank diameter seats directly in standard ER collets, end mill holders, or set-screw tool holders without an adapter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-service roughing end mill for use in any milling machine or machining center accepting a 1/2 inch shank end mill holder or collet.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or removing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque set screws or collet nuts to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, and verify spindle RPM and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
