The VALUE COLLECTION 724-6436 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, it handles harder workpiece materials and elevated cutting temperatures better than standard HSS tooling. The 3/8 inch diameter, 3-flute geometry produces a coarse chip-breaking action that clears chips efficiently and reduces heat buildup at the cutting edge. With a 1.125 inch length of cut and a 2.8125 inch overall length, this end mill is suited for side milling, slotting, and roughing passes where stock removal rate matters more than surface finish. It is installed in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual vertical mills.
This end mill is intended for roughing passes on ferrous and non-ferrous metals including steel alloys, stainless steel, and cast iron where a high material removal rate is the primary objective. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral, combined with a high helix style, promote efficient chip evacuation and reduce chatter during aggressive cuts. Center-cutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The 3/8 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets, end mill holders, and Weldon-style set-screw holders commonly found in production and job-shop environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling selection for 3/8 inch end mill holders, ER collet systems, and Weldon-style set-screw holders used in vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth before tightening. Inspect the tool for chipping or wear before each use and replace if the cutting edges show visible damage to avoid workpiece scrap or holder damage.
