The VALUE COLLECTION 724-5185 is a single-end roughing finishing end mill designed for metal removal and surface finishing in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with Titanium Nitride (TiN), it handles tough ferrous and non-ferrous materials where heat and wear resistance are priorities. The 3/4-inch diameter with a matching 3/4-inch Weldon flat shank provides positive drive and reduced slippage in the holder. Four right-hand flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation. With a 1.625-inch length of cut and a 3.75-inch overall length, this end mill suits general-purpose production milling on knee mills, VMCs, and CNC machining centers. Installation and use are performed by machinists and toolroom technicians.
This end mill is suited for roughing and finishing passes on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar materials in both job-shop and production environments. The TiN coating extends tool life by reducing friction and resisting built-up edge. The Weldon flat shank design makes it compatible with standard Weldon-style end mill holders commonly found in production machining setups. It is not center-cutting, so it is not intended for direct plunge operations without a pre-drilled pilot or ramp entry.
Designed for use with standard 3/4-inch Weldon-style end mill holders on knee mills, vertical machining centers, and CNC milling machines. Confirm holder bore and retention screw placement match the Weldon flat location before mounting.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before mounting or removing the end mill. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully into the holder and torque the retention screw per the holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or damage before each use, and confirm runout with a dial indicator when tight tolerances are required.
