The VALUE COLLECTION 724-5179 is a single-end roughing finishing end mill designed for aggressive material removal and smooth finishing in one tool. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with Titanium Nitride (TiN), it offers enhanced wear resistance and heat tolerance compared to standard HSS tooling. The 3/4 inch diameter, 4-flute, square end geometry delivers efficient chip evacuation and a clean edge finish. With a 30-degree helix angle and right-hand cutting direction, it is well suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous materials in manual or CNC machining centers. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers and operators of this end mill.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical milling machines, knee mills, and CNC machining centers performing roughing and finishing operations in a single pass. Its 1.25 inch length of cut and 3.5 inch overall length make it appropriate for medium-depth pocketing, slotting, and profiling operations. The Weldon flat shank provides positive drive retention in standard end mill holders, reducing pullout risk during heavy cuts. It is a single-end tool, meaning once the cutting end is worn, the tool is replaced rather than flipped.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or stock end mill for standard 3/4 inch end mill holders with Weldon flat drive. Suitable for use in any vertical or CNC milling machine accepting a 3/4 inch straight shank with Weldon flat.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop-standard tooling procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder and tighten set screws against the Weldon flat to rated holder torque specifications per the holder manufacturer. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, especially for finish operations.
