The VALUE COLLECTION 724-5116 is a single-end roughing finishing end mill designed for aggressive material removal with a refined finish in one tool. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it carries a Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating that extends tool life and reduces friction during cutting. The 1/2 inch diameter, 4-flute configuration with a 30-degree helix angle supports efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The square end geometry delivers flat-bottomed cuts, and the Weldon flat shank provides positive drive retention in standard end mill holders. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on vertical mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers.

The 724-5116 is suited for milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals where both roughing and semi-finishing passes are required without a tool change. With a 1.25 inch length of cut and 3.25 inch overall length, it handles moderate-depth peripheral and slot milling in a compact profile. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting rotation make it compatible with conventional spindle setups. It is not center-cutting, so it is not intended for direct plunge entry.

Installation Notes

A licensed machinist or qualified machine operator should install and set this end mill. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the Weldon flat against the holder setscrew and torque the setscrew per the holder manufacturer specification before engaging the spindle. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation, especially for finishing operations where surface quality is critical.
