The VALUE COLLECTION 724-4323 is a 6-flute roughing finishing end mill designed for aggressive material removal and finish cutting in a single tool. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, it measures 1-1/2 inches in diameter with a 1-1/8-inch length of cut and a 3-3/8-inch overall length. The square end geometry and 30-degree helix angle deliver efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting performance. A Weldon flat shank at 3/4 inches provides a positive, slip-resistant grip in the holder. This end mill is a single-end, right-hand cut tool intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on manual or CNC milling machines.
This end mill is suited for shops working with ferrous metals, stainless steels, and harder alloys where cobalt M42 tooling holds up better than standard M2 high-speed steel. The combination of roughing and finishing geometry allows the operator to rough and semi-finish a feature without a tool change, reducing cycle time. Typical applications include profile milling, slot cutting, and shoulder milling on production parts and prototype work in job shop environments. The non-center-cutting design means plunge entry is not recommended; use a pre-drilled hole or ramp entry.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-application end mill for standard milling machine spindles and CNC machining centers accepting a 3/4-inch Weldon flat shank. Verify holder bore and drawbar specifications before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the Weldon flat against the set screw in the holder and torque the set screw to the holder manufacturer's specification. Because this is a non-center-cutting end mill, avoid direct plunge cuts; use a pilot hole or programmed ramp entry to protect flute geometry.
