The VALUE COLLECTION 724-4186 is a single-end roughing finishing end mill designed for aggressive material removal followed by a finish pass in a single tool. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, it delivers solid wear resistance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 3/4-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 1.625-inch length of cut and a 3.875-inch overall length. A 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard. The Weldon flat shank provides positive drive retention in compatible holders. Weighing approximately 0.045 pounds, this end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills alike.
This end mill is intended for use in milling operations where roughing and finishing are combined into a single pass, reducing tool changes and cycle time. Typical applications include slotting, peripheral milling, and profiling in steel, stainless, and other ferrous alloys. The M42 cobalt construction makes it a practical choice when elevated heat resistance is needed at the cutting edge. It is a single-end tool, so the shank end is not a cutting surface. Machinists, toolroom operators, and CNC programmers working in job shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments will find this tool applicable to general-purpose milling tasks.
Designed as a replacement or direct-fit roughing finishing end mill for standard 3/4-inch end mill holders and collet chucks accepting a 3/4-inch Weldon flat shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the Weldon flat shank in a properly sized end mill holder, aligning the flat to the set screw to prevent tool pullout under load. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, and confirm cutting fluid delivery is appropriate for the workpiece material.
