The VALUE COLLECTION 724-4145 is a single-end, 3-flute cobalt square end mill engineered for both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. Built from high-speed cobalt steel and left uncoated, it delivers reliable performance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where heat resistance matters. The 5/8-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 30-degree right-hand helix angle to promote chip evacuation and reduce chatter during aggressive cuts. A chipbreaker geometry along the flutes breaks chips into manageable segments, reducing recutting and extending tool life in deep-pocket and side-milling applications. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this end mill in standard CNC or manual milling equipment.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose material removal on machining centers, knee mills, and bridgeports handling steel, cast iron, stainless, and similar materials. The 1-5/8-inch length of cut provides adequate depth for most slotting, profiling, and contouring passes without excessive tool deflection. The 5/8-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and weldon-style side-lock holders commonly found in job shops and production environments. The 3-3/4-inch overall length keeps the tool stiff enough for interrupted cuts and shoulder milling at moderate depths.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use cutting tool for standard 5/8-inch end mill holders, ER collet systems, and weldon-style holders used in CNC and manual vertical milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's spindle and toolholder torque guidance. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or lockout state before loading or removing end mills. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the recommended minimum engagement depth to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Inspect the tool for edge chipping or excessive wear before each use and replace when cutting performance degrades.
