The VALUE COLLECTION 724-3314 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, it delivers heat resistance and extended tool life in demanding cutting conditions. The 1.25-inch diameter cutter features 6 flutes with a right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction, producing a coarse chip-breaking action that reduces cutting forces and prevents chip packing. With a 6-inch length of cut and an overall length of 8.5 inches, this tool handles deep-cavity and heavy-stock roughing passes. It is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on manual or CNC milling machines.
This roughing end mill is suited for high-volume material removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals in industrial machining environments. The non-centercutting design means it is intended for peripheral cutting and side-milling operations rather than plunge cutting. The extended 6-inch length of cut makes it appropriate for deep-pocket roughing and profiling operations where standard-length tools cannot reach. The 1-1/4-inch shank diameter matches the cutter diameter for direct collet or end mill holder mounting on full-size knee mills, bridge mills, and CNC machining centers.
Designed as an OEM-style roughing end mill for use in standard 1-1/4-inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and milling machine spindles accepting that shank diameter.
This tool should be installed by a qualified machinist using a proper end mill holder or collet sized to 1-1/4 inches. Ensure the machine spindle is fully de-energized and locked out before changing tooling. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating the tool, as excessive runout accelerates wear on a 6-flute cutter. Do not use this non-centercutting tool for plunge-entry cuts; ramp or helical entry paths are required for pocket operations.
