The VALUE COLLECTION 724-2167 is a single-end cobalt roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat and wear resistance needed when cutting tough ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 3/4 inch cutting diameter pairs with a 5/8 inch shank and a 1.625 inch length of cut, making it well-suited for hogging operations where chip evacuation and tool rigidity matter. The bright, uncoated finish is standard for cobalt tooling used in general-purpose roughing. A licensed machinist or tooling professional installs and runs this end mill in a compatible milling machine or machining center.
This end mill is intended for roughing passes in manual milling machines and CNC machining centers where high material removal rates are the priority. The 4-flute, right-hand cutting and right-hand flute configuration suits a wide range of shop applications including roughing steel, alloy steel, and similar materials. With an overall length of 3.75 inches and a 1.625 inch length of cut, it fits standard tool holders designed for 5/8 inch shank tooling. It is not center-cutting, so it cannot plunge directly into material and must be ramped or edge-started.
Designed as a general-purpose roughing end mill for use in milling machines and machining centers that accept a 5/8 inch shank end mill holder or collet.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's clamping and runout specifications. Power down and lock out the spindle before loading or removing the tool from the holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the tool holder is torqued to the machine manufacturer's specification. Because this end mill is not center-cutting, program ramp or helical entry moves rather than direct plunge paths to avoid tool damage.
