The VALUE COLLECTION 724-2086 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Ground from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat and wear resistance suited to harder workpiece materials. The 4-flute, right-hand cutting geometry with a bright uncoated finish handles interrupted cuts and heavy chip loads typical in roughing passes. With a 3/8 inch diameter, 1.125 inch length of cut, and 2-15/16 inch overall length, this end mill fits standard 3/8 inch collets and tool holders on vertical and horizontal milling machines. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals reach for this geometry when roughing steel, stainless, and similar alloys before a finishing pass.
This end mill is suited to conventional milling operations in job shops, production floors, and maintenance machining environments. The single-end configuration keeps the tool compact for use in shorter setups and tight fixtures. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting rotation are compatible with standard spindle configurations found on most knee mills, CNC machining centers, and manual milling machines. The non-centercutting design means it is intended for peripheral roughing cuts rather than plunging; pre-drilled entry points or a separate drill should be used when starting a pocket.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement-grade roughing end mill compatible with 3/8 inch collets and end mill holders on standard vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers.
Installation is performed by machinists using a collet chuck or end mill holder sized to the 3/8 inch shank. Power down and lock out the spindle drive before securing or removing the tool. Verify tool runout with a dial indicator after tightening to avoid premature edge wear. Because this end mill is non-centercutting, always begin pocket operations from a pre-drilled hole or use a ramping entry strategy.
