The VALUE COLLECTION 724-1239 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a TiN coating, it delivers elevated heat and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The 1-inch cutting diameter and 5-flute geometry produce a coarse chip-breaking action that reduces cutting forces and limits chatter during heavy roughing passes. The shank diameter is 0.75 inches and the length of cut is 2 inches, with an overall length of 4.25 inches. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry into the workpiece. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this end mill in manual or CNC vertical milling machines.
This roughing end mill is suited for roughing operations in steel, stainless, cast iron, and other tough materials where heat generation is a concern. The M42 cobalt steel grade provides added red hardness, making it a reliable choice for high-temperature applications and interrupted cuts. Its right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction match the standard spindle rotation of most vertical mills and machining centers. The TiN finish extends tool life and reduces built-up edge on the cutting faces.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling choice for vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers accepting a 0.75-inch shank end mill holder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard tool-change procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or placed in a safe state before changing tooling. Secure the shank fully within the collet or end mill holder to the depth recommended by the holder manufacturer, and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts. Do not exceed the rated cutting parameters for the workpiece material and machine rigidity.
