The VALUE COLLECTION 724-1119 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a TiN coating, it handles tougher workpieces and higher cutting temperatures better than standard HSS tooling. The 0.5 inch diameter with a 1.625 inch length of cut makes it well suited for slotting, peripheral roughing, and pocketing passes where rapid stock removal is the priority. Four right-hand flutes with a right-hand cutting direction provide efficient chip evacuation. Center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on manual knee mills and CNC machining centers.
This roughing end mill is intended for use in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications where bulk material removal precedes finishing passes. The M42 cobalt substrate offers increased hardness and heat resistance compared to M2 HSS, making it a practical choice for stainless steels, alloy steels, and other hard-to-machine materials. The TiN coating reduces friction and extends tool life in moderate-to-high cutting speed applications. The 0.5 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets, end mill holders, and Weldon-style side-lock holders commonly found in production and job-shop environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use roughing end mill for standard 0.5 inch end mill holders, ER32 collet chucks, and Weldon-style side-lock holders used on vertical machining centers and knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and at rest before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the minimum engagement depth recommended by the holder manufacturer before tightening. Confirm runout with a dial indicator prior to production cuts to avoid premature tool wear or workpiece damage.
