The VALUE COLLECTION 724-0203 is a cobalt square end mill designed for metal removal in milling operations on machining centers and manual mills. Built with 3 flutes and a 7/8 inch cutting diameter, it handles ferrous metals, stainless steels, and high-temperature alloys where high-speed steel tooling falls short. The 7/8 inch length of cut (LOC) provides sufficient depth for most standard profiling and slotting passes. With a 3/4 inch shank diameter and 3-1/8 inch overall length (OAL), this tool fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders common in most shop environments. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this type of tooling in CNC and manual milling setups.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose milling of alloy steels, tool steels, and other hard or abrasive materials where cobalt composition provides improved heat resistance over standard HSS. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot milling. The coarse pitch, right-hand cut, and right-hand flute configuration make it compatible with conventional climb and conventional milling passes on vertical and horizontal mills. It is appropriate for both production-floor and maintenance-shop environments.
Designed as a standard single-end square end mill fitting 3/4 inch collet chucks and end mill holders on vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the spindle at a full stop and machine power locked out per shop safety protocols. Seat the 3/4 inch shank fully and evenly in the collet or holder before tightening to manufacturer torque specifications for that holder type. Inspect runout with a dial indicator after installation, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on a 3-flute tool. Follow applicable OSHA and machine-tool manufacturer guidelines for speeds, feeds, and eye protection when operating milling equipment.
