The 5/16 inch (0.3125 inch) cutting diameter pairs with a 1-3/8 inch (1.3750 inch) length of cut and a 3/8 inch shank, making it suited for moderate-depth roughing passes. The bright, uncoated finish keeps the surface free of added coating variables, which some machinists prefer for cobalt tooling. This end mill is centercutting, allowing plunge entry into workpieces without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
