The VALUE COLLECTION 723-6854 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for high-material-removal-rate milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Constructed from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, this tool handles interrupted cuts, aggressive roughing passes, and tough alloy steels that would accelerate wear on standard HSS tooling. The 6-flute geometry distributes cutting forces evenly, reduces chatter, and produces a manageable chip load per tooth. It measures 1.5 inches in diameter with a 1.5-inch length of cut and a 0.75-inch shank diameter. Total weight is 2 pounds.
This end mill is suited for horizontal and vertical milling machines, CNC machining centers, and manual knee mills used in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments. Typical applications include roughing pockets, profiling, and slotting in carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with conventional right-hand spindle setups. This is a single-end tool, so once the cutting end is spent, the tool is retired rather than flipped.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for any milling machine or machining center accepting a 0.75-inch shank end mill holder, collet chuck, or Weldon-style holder.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before loading or removing the tool. Secure the 0.75-inch shank fully into the holder to the recommended insertion depth and torque the set screw or collet nut per the holder manufacturer specification. Because this end mill is non-centercutting, do not attempt a direct plunge cut — use a ramping, helical interpolation, or pre-drilled entry strategy. Confirm spindle direction is right-hand before engaging the cut.
