The VALUE COLLECTION 723-6841 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this tool carries a TiN (titanium nitride) coating that extends cutting edge life and reduces friction during heavy cuts. It features a 1.25-inch mill diameter, 6 flutes, and a 4-inch length of cut, making it well suited for hogging operations where stock removal rate matters. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional vertical and horizontal milling machine setups. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users of this cutter.
This roughing end mill is intended for use on ferrous and harder non-ferrous materials where a high-cobalt substrate and TiN coating provide adequate heat and wear resistance. The 6-flute configuration increases the number of cutting edges in contact per revolution, supporting faster feed rates at controlled depths of cut. The 1.25-inch shank diameter matches the mill diameter, allowing direct mounting in standard R8, CAT, BT, or similar toolholders sized for 1-1/4-inch shanks. With a 6.5-inch overall length, this cutter accommodates moderate reach requirements on knee mills, vertical machining centers, and CNC mills.
Designed as a direct-mount roughing end mill for toolholders accepting a 1-1/4-inch shank diameter. Compatible with standard vertical and horizontal milling machines, knee mills, and CNC machining centers equipped with appropriately sized collets or end mill holders.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard toolroom practice. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention hardware to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Because this cutter is non-centercutting, do not attempt direct plunge cuts — use a pre-drilled pilot hole or a ramping entry path.
