The VALUE COLLECTION 723-6720 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a TiN coating, it handles harder workpiece materials where standard HSS tooling falls short. The cutter measures 3/8 inch in diameter with a 7/16 inch length of cut and a 2-3/16 inch overall length. Four right-hand flutes and a right-hand cutting direction deliver efficient chip evacuation during roughing passes. This tool is suited for machinists and tool-and-die professionals running manual mills or CNC machining centers.
This end mill is appropriate for roughing operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals in job shop, production machining, and maintenance environments. The cobalt M42 substrate offers improved heat and wear resistance compared to standard M2 HSS, making it a practical choice for cutting alloy steels, stainless, and other harder materials at moderate cutting speeds. It is a non-centercutting design, so plunge cutting is not recommended.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 3/8 inch single-end roughing end mills used in manual vertical mills and CNC machining centers equipped with 3/8 inch collets or end mill holders.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard toolroom practices. Secure the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening. Verify spindle and workholding are fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Do not use this tool for plunge cuts, as it is a non-centercutting design.
