The VALUE COLLECTION 723-6582 is a single-end corner rounding end mill designed for machining rounded profiles and edge breaks on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers improved heat and wear resistance compared to standard M2 HSS tooling, making it suitable for harder alloys and interrupted cuts. The cutter measures 2.25 inches in diameter with a 0.75 inch corner radius and runs four right-hand helical flutes in a right-hand cutting direction. The bright, uncoated finish is common in applications where coating compatibility with the workpiece material is a concern. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this tool in vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers.
This end mill is suited for milling operations requiring a consistent corner radius on edges, slots, and contoured surfaces in job shop and production environments. The 1 inch straight shank fits standard end mill holders, collet chucks, and Weldon-style tool holders commonly found on knee mills and vertical machining centers. It is appropriate for both manual and CNC applications where a right-hand spindle rotation is used. Typical materials include mild steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, and cast iron where cobalt tooling provides a meaningful advantage over standard HSS.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement-style corner rounding end mill for standard 1 inch bore end mill holders, collet chucks, and Weldon-style holders on vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers with right-hand spindle rotation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for tool holding and runout specifications. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Verify shank engagement depth meets the tool holder manufacturer minimum requirements to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use.
