The VALUE COLLECTION 723-6445 is a single-end corner rounding end mill designed for machining radius profiles on workpiece edges in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers good heat and wear resistance for demanding cuts in alloy steels, stainless, and other tough materials. The cutting geometry features a 3/16 inch radius, a 7/8 inch mill diameter, and 4 flutes with a right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction. The bright/uncoated finish is suitable for applications where coating is not required or where re-sharpening is anticipated. This tool is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on standard vertical or horizontal milling machines and machining centers.
This end mill is suited for producing consistent corner radii on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces in job shop, production, and maintenance machining environments. The 1/2 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and side-lock holders commonly found on manual mills and CNC machining centers. The single-end configuration means the cutting geometry is on one end only. Typical applications include edge profiling, mold work, die work, and part finishing operations where a specific edge radius is required by engineering drawings or part specifications.
Designed as a standard-shank corner rounding end mill for use in 1/2 inch end mill holders, ER collet systems, and side-lock holders on vertical mills and CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the 1/2 inch shank fully into the holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention mechanism per the holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, and select speeds and feeds appropriate for cobalt HSS tooling in the workpiece material being machined.
