The VALUE COLLECTION 723-6405 is a single-end corner rounding end mill designed to machine smooth, consistent radius profiles on workpiece edges. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this 4-flute tool delivers solid performance in harder ferrous and stainless materials where standard HSS tools lose their edge. The cutting diameter is 0.375 inches with a 1/32-inch corner radius, and the shank diameter matches the cutter at 3/8 inches for a direct fit in standard end mill holders. The bright, uncoated finish makes it easy to inspect for wear. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this type of tool for edge prep, mold work, and any application requiring a repeatable radius blend.
This corner rounding end mill is suited for use on manual knee mills, CNC machining centers, and toolroom mills running ferrous metals, alloy steels, and stainless steel. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry are standard for conventional milling setups. With a 3/8-inch shank, it fits ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and milling chucks sized for that bore without any adapter needed. Typical applications include edge-breaking on hardened tooling, profile blending on mold cavities, and radius generation on part features where a dedicated form tool is more efficient than a ball end mill.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct toolroom addition for milling machines and machining centers accepting a 3/8-inch shank end mill holder or collet.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using a standard end mill holder, ER collet chuck, or milling chuck rated for 3/8-inch shanks. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the holder is clean and free of chips before seating the tool. Tighten the holder to the manufacturer's specified torque using the correct wrench — do not over-clamp collet nuts. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation, as excess runout will accelerate edge wear on a form tool of this radius.
