The VALUE COLLECTION 723-5776 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling applications. Manufactured from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this tool handles tough materials where standard HSS tooling struggles. The 4-flute configuration with a right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction provides efficient chip evacuation while maintaining rigidity. With a 3/4 inch diameter and a 4.125 inch length of cut, the 723-5776 suits deep-pocket and slotting operations where extended reach into the workpiece is required. The bright, uncoated finish is standard for cobalt-grade roughers used across general-purpose machining environments.
This end mill is suited for use in manual knee mills and CNC machining centers where roughing passes precede finishing operations. The 3/4 inch shank diameter matches the cutter diameter, making it compatible with standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and weldon-style tool holders commonly found in job shops and maintenance machining environments. Non-centercutting geometry means this tool is not intended for plunge cuts; it is designed for peripheral and slotting entry strategies. It is appropriate for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials at appropriate surface speeds for cobalt tooling.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use roughing end mill for standard 3/4 inch end mill holders, ER collet systems, and Weldon shank tool holders used in vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle at a complete stop and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Secure the shank fully within the tool holder to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the holder manufacturer — insufficient engagement can cause tool pull-out under cutting loads. Because this end mill is not centercutting, do not program plunge moves directly into solid material; use a ramping or helical entry strategy. Verify runout with a dial indicator after mounting before beginning any cut.
