The VALUE COLLECTION 723-5762 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from cobalt M42 high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this tool delivers durability and heat resistance in demanding cutting applications. The 3/4 inch diameter cutter features 4 flutes with right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction, optimized for roughing passes where rapid stock removal takes priority over surface finish. With a 3/4 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length, it fits standard toolholders and milling setups. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this style of end mill for roughing ferrous and non-ferrous materials on vertical and horizontal milling machines and machining centers.
This roughing end mill is suited for shop environments handling prototype work, production milling, and repair machining. The M42 cobalt construction makes it a practical choice when cutting harder alloy steels or stainless where standard HSS tooling loses its edge prematurely. The single-end configuration and 3/4 inch shank diameter allow direct chuck or collet mounting in most standard milling setups. This tool is not center-cutting, so it requires a pre-drilled or pre-milled entry point and is not intended for plunge cuts.
Designed as a standard 3/4 inch shank roughing end mill compatible with collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style holders accepting 3/4 inch shank tooling on vertical mills, horizontal mills, and CNC machining centers.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Ensure the milling machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before mounting or removing any end mill. Secure the shank in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention fastener according to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Because this tool is not center-cutting, always begin cuts from the workpiece edge or an existing pocket opening — never attempt plunge entry with this tool.
