The VALUE COLLECTION 723-5726 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers good heat and wear resistance in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. The 3/8 inch diameter body carries 4 flutes with a right-hand cutting and flute direction, producing the characteristic serrated chip-splitting profile that reduces cutting forces and heat buildup during heavy roughing passes. With a 1.125 inch length of cut and a 2-15/16 inch overall length, it suits standard vertical mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers running roughing cycles.
This end mill is intended for roughing operations where rapid stock removal is the priority before a finish pass is applied. The 3/8 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style side-lock holders commonly found in job shop and production environments. Its M42 cobalt construction makes it a practical choice when machining alloy steels, stainless, and other materials that generate elevated cutting temperatures. The non-centercutting design means it should be used for peripheral and slot milling entries from the side rather than plunge cuts.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling selection for 3/8 inch end mill holders, ER collet systems, and side-lock holders used in vertical mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers requiring a 3/8 inch shank roughing end mill.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is properly seated and torqued in the holder before running. Confirm shank engagement depth meets the holder manufacturer minimum before operation. Always verify spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut.
