The VALUE COLLECTION 723-5725 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Manufactured from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat and wear resistance suited for harder workpiece materials. The mill measures 11/32 inches (0.3438 inches) in diameter with a 3/4-inch length of cut and a 2-1/2-inch overall length. A 3/8-inch shank diameter provides solid tool-holder engagement. With three flutes and a bright, uncoated finish, this end mill is built for roughing passes where chip evacuation and cutting efficiency are the primary concerns. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this type of cutter for rapid stock removal before finishing operations.
This roughing end mill is suited for use in vertical mills, CNC machining centers, and knee mills where aggressive roughing cuts are required. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute configuration match standard spindle rotation on most milling equipment. The non-centercutting design means it is intended for side milling and peripheral cuts rather than plunge operations. It is appropriate for ferrous and harder non-ferrous materials where cobalt tooling provides a meaningful advantage over standard high-speed steel.
Designed as a standard single-end roughing end mill with a 3/8-inch shank, compatible with 3/8-inch collets, end mill holders, and milling chucks on vertical and CNC milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the holder. Seat the shank to the recommended engagement depth in the collet or holder and torque the retention mechanism per the tool-holder manufacturer specifications. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear on cobalt tooling.
