The VALUE COLLECTION 723-4571 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers the heat resistance and edge hardness required for heavy interrupted cuts and high-feed roughing operations. The 1-inch diameter, 3-flute geometry with a high helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining cutting stability. The center-cutting design allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole, adding setup flexibility on manual mills and CNC machining centers alike.
This end mill is suited for roughing passes in tool-and-die shops, general job shops, and maintenance machining environments. With a 1-5/8-inch length of cut and 4-1/8-inch overall length, it handles moderate-depth pockets, slots, and profiling operations on knee mills, vertical machining centers, and similar equipment. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional spindle setups. It is installed by machinists, tooling technicians, and skilled maintenance professionals working with mill machines.
Designed as a standard single-end roughing end mill with a 1-inch shank diameter, compatible with collet chucks, end mill holders, and milling adapters sized for 1-inch straight shanks on vertical mills and CNC machining centers.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling personnel. Secure the shank fully within the holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the set screw or drawbar per the holder manufacturer's specification before operating. Power down and lock out the machine spindle completely before changing tooling. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use, and confirm spindle RPM and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut before engaging the tool.
