The VALUE COLLECTION 723-4505 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this tool handles tough ferrous and non-ferrous materials while maintaining edge integrity under heat. The 3/4-inch diameter cutter features 3 flutes with a high helix, right-hand cut, and right-hand flute direction. A bright, uncoated finish makes it well-suited for applications where coating adhesion or surface interaction is a concern. Centercutting capability allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. This end mill is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals for roughing passes on CNC mills and manual knee mills.
This end mill is appropriate for roughing operations in general machining environments, including job shops, production facilities, and maintenance machine rooms. The 3/4-inch length of cut and 3-inch overall length position it as a standard-reach tool for face, slot, and peripheral milling on steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar materials. Single-end configuration means the tool is retired once the cutting end is worn, with no option to flip. Right-hand cutting direction is compatible with standard spindle rotation on most vertical machining centers and manual mills.
Designed as a standard-shank roughing end mill with a 3/4-inch shank diameter, compatible with ER collets, end mill holders, and Weldon-style holders sized for 3/4-inch tooling on vertical machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention mechanism to the machine manufacturer's specification for the holder type in use. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and confirm runout with a dial indicator when precision tolerances are required.
