The VALUE COLLECTION 723-3955 is a 6-flute cobalt square end mill designed for milling ferrous metals, hardened steels, and other demanding materials in production machining environments. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it offers improved heat and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The 2-inch cutting diameter and 2-inch length of cut make it well suited for full-depth slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces during heavy cuts. This is a single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration with a bright uncoated finish.
This end mill is intended for use on manual knee mills, CNC vertical machining centers, and similar milling equipment where a large-diameter cobalt tool is required. Its centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, expanding its application to interpolated pockets and ramp-entry toolpaths. The 3/4-inch shank diameter fits standard ER and CAT/BT collet and toolholder systems common in job shops and production facilities. It is a regular-length tool in the Series VCCC-C-6 lineup, appropriate for general-purpose work where extended reach is not required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling option for 3/4-inch shank collet holders and milling chucks on vertical and horizontal milling machines requiring a 2-inch diameter square end mill.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and verify runout with a dial indicator when tight tolerances are required.
