The VALUE COLLECTION 723-3715 is a single-end ball end mill designed for contouring, profiling, and 3D milling operations in machine shop and production environments. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers strong heat and wear resistance, making it suitable for cutting harder ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The mill measures 0.3125 inches (5/16 inches) in diameter with a 3/4-inch length of cut and a 2-1/2-inch overall length. The bright, uncoated finish keeps the tool ready to run as-delivered without additional prep. Machinists and CNC operators install this type of tooling in vertical machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines.
This ball end mill is suited for light-to-medium duty milling work in job shops, toolrooms, and production floors. The 4-flute configuration improves feed rates and surface finish quality compared to 2-flute designs, making it a practical choice for finishing passes on steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar materials. The 3/8-inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders common in most milling setups. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional machine spindle rotation.
Designed as a standard single-end ball end mill compatible with 3/8-inch end mill holders, ER collet systems, and side-lock holders used on vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the minimum insertion depth recommended for the holder type, and torque the set screw or collet nut according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut to avoid premature tool wear or breakage.
