The VALUE COLLECTION 723-3655 is a cobalt square end mill designed for milling operations in a wide range of metalworking applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this single-end tool features a 1/8 inch cutting diameter and a 5/16 inch length of cut. With three right-hand spiral flutes and a 30-degree helix angle, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action in materials including stainless steel, hardened alloys, and other tough workpiece materials. The bright, uncoated finish suits general-purpose cutting where coatings are unnecessary. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals will find this mill well suited to close-tolerance slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling tasks on manual mills and CNC machining centers alike.
This end mill is classified as a long-series tool within the VCCC-C-3 series, giving it additional reach compared to stub-length equivalents. The 1/4 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders commonly found in both vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers. Its centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The right-hand cutting direction is compatible with standard spindle rotation on conventional milling equipment. This tool is sized for precision detail work, die-making, and light-metal or ferrous machining where a small-diameter, high-performance cutter is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use cobalt square end mill for standard 1/4 inch collet and end mill holder systems on vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention mechanism according to the machine manufacturer's specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and confirm proper runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run.
