The VALUE COLLECTION 723-3305 is a cobalt square end mill designed for milling operations that demand heat resistance and edge retention beyond what standard high-speed steel tooling can provide. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this single-end mill features a 3/8 inch diameter cutting face, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 30-degree right-hand spiral helix. The four-flute geometry promotes chip evacuation while maintaining a strong core. The bright uncoated finish makes it easy to inspect the cutting edge before and after use. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals reach for this grade when working harder alloys at elevated feeds.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose profile milling, slotting, and side milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where cobalt tooling provides a performance advantage over standard HSS. The 3/8 inch shank diameter matches directly to standard collets and end mill holders in that bore size. The long-series classification gives added reach into deeper pockets without requiring an extended-reach specialty tool. It is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry. Typical applications include job shops, maintenance machining, and production environments running knee mills, CNC vertical machining centers, and manual bridgeport-style equipment.
Designed as a standard fractional-inch single-end square end mill compatible with 3/8 inch collets, end mill holders, and chucks used on knee mills, CNC vertical machining centers, and similar milling machines accepting 3/8 inch shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before inserting or removing the end mill from the holder. Set tool stick-out to the minimum length required for the operation to maximize rigidity and reduce deflection. Verify collet bore size matches the 3/8 inch shank before tightening to manufacturer torque specifications for the holder type in use.
