The VALUE COLLECTION 723-3213 is a 4-flute cobalt square end mill designed for milling steel, stainless steel, and other ferrous materials in demanding shop environments. Machined from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat resistance and edge retention that standard HSS tooling cannot match. The cutter measures 0.625 inches in diameter with a 1.625-inch length of cut and a 3.75-inch overall length, making it a regular-length tool suited to most vertical and horizontal knee mills and CNC machining centers. It is a single-end tool with a bright uncoated finish, installed and changed out by machinists and toolroom operators.
This end mill is built for general-purpose slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. The 30-degree helix angle provides a balance of cutting efficiency and chip evacuation across a wide range of workpiece materials. The 0.625-inch shank diameter matches standard R8, CAT, BT, and ER collet toolholders in that bore size. It is well suited to job shops, production floors, and toolroom applications where cobalt tooling is specified for its toughness and thermal stability.
Designed as a standard single-end square end mill compatible with any machine tool spindle accepting a 0.625-inch shank via R8 collet, ER collet chuck, CAT or BT toolholder, or side-lock end mill holder of the appropriate bore size.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom operator using the appropriate collet chuck or end mill holder torqued to the machine tool manufacturer's specification. Power down the spindle and confirm the machine is in an e-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Inspect the shank and holder bore for chips or damage before seating the tool. Follow the cutting tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut to avoid premature edge failure.
