The VALUE COLLECTION 723-2072 is a double-end cobalt square end mill designed for material removal in demanding machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat resistance and edge retention when cutting ferrous metals and high-temperature alloys. The 3/4 inch diameter cutting end pairs with a 1-5/16 inch length of cut and a 30-degree helix angle to promote chip evacuation and reduce chatter. With two flutes and a bright, uncoated finish, this end mill is suited for general-purpose milling where re-sharpening and extended tool life are priorities. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals will recognize the double-end design as a practical way to extend usable tool life per unit.
This end mill is intended for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. The double-end configuration suits vertical machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling setups where operators benefit from a second usable cutting end. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction follow standard convention for the majority of milling spindles. Center-cutting capability allows plunge entry without pre-drilling. The bright finish makes it a straightforward choice for shops running general ferrous milling programs without specialty coating requirements.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or production end mill for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys in standard 3/4 inch collets or end mill holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's toolholder torque and runout specifications. Secure the shank fully within the collet or end mill holder to the recommended engagement depth before operation. Verify spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut. Inspect cutting edges for chipping or wear before mounting, and replace or flip to the second end when the primary cutting end no longer meets finish requirements.
