The VALUE COLLECTION 723-2020 is a cobalt double-end square end mill designed for material removal in demanding machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat and wear resistance needed when cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. The 7/32-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 1/2-inch length of cut and a 30-degree helix angle to promote chip evacuation and reduce cutting forces. The bright, uncoated finish is suitable for use with or without coolant, though this tool does not feature through-coolant capability. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on this type of end mill for profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling on manual mills and CNC machining centers.
The 723-2020 is suited for ferrous and high-temp alloy workpiece materials in job shop, production, and maintenance machining environments. Its double-end configuration extends tool life by providing two usable cutting ends before the tool is retired. The 3/8-inch shank fits standard collets, side-lock holders, and Weldon-style tool holders common in both manual and CNC setups. This end mill is appropriate for use in light to moderate depths of cut on machine tools with adequate spindle rigidity.
Designed for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. Fits standard 3/8-inch collets and tool holders on manual knee mills and CNC machining centers.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered off and the spindle fully stopped. Secure the shank fully within the tool holder to the recommended gauge-line depth before torquing the retention mechanism. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation, as excessive runout will accelerate cutting edge wear. Follow the machine tool and cutting tool manufacturer guidelines for speeds and feeds based on workpiece material and depth of cut.
