The VALUE COLLECTION 723-2012 is a cobalt square end mill designed for material removal in milling applications on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat resistance and edge retention under demanding cutting conditions. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life before replacement. With a 30-degree helix angle and right-hand cutting and flute direction, it produces efficient chip evacuation on a standard milling machine or CNC machining center. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and toolroom technicians working in metalworking environments.
This end mill suits light to medium milling operations in job shops, production machining cells, and maintenance toolrooms. The 5/32 inch diameter and 7/16 inch length of cut make it appropriate for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in tight geometries or small-feature work. It is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry directly into workpiece material. Primary target materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. The 3/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found in vertical mills and machining centers.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or stocked tool for standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 3/8 inch shank diameter on vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom personnel. Secure the 3/8 inch shank in a clean, undamaged collet or end mill holder and torque to the machine manufacturer's specification. Inspect both cutting ends for chipping or wear before use. Always bring the spindle to a full stop before changing or repositioning the tool. Confirm proper runout with a dial indicator before beginning a precision cut.
