The VALUE COLLECTION 723-1618 is a cobalt steel square end mill designed for material removal and profiling operations on milling machines and machining centers. Built to M42 cobalt high-speed steel spec, it delivers improved heat and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life between changes. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. At 11/64 inches (0.1719 inches) in diameter with a 1/4-inch length of cut, this stub-length mill is suited for short-reach slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling where rigidity is a priority.
This end mill is intended for use in ferrous and high-temperature alloy applications including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temp alloys. The bright/uncoated finish makes it a practical choice when re-sharpening or close inspection of tool condition is needed. A 3/16-inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders in that size range. The 2-inch overall length keeps deflection low in stub-length setups. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shops, maintenance, or production environments will find this a dependable general-purpose cutting tool.
Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), and high-temp alloys (S). Fits any milling machine spindle or CNC machining center equipped with a 3/16-inch collet or end mill holder.
Install in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque to the holder manufacturer's specification before use. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or changing tooling. Right-hand cutting direction requires standard right-hand spindle rotation. Inspect both cutting ends for chipping or wear before each use, and do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the diameter and material being machined.
