The VALUE COLLECTION 723-1600 is a cobalt square end mill designed for precision metal removal in demanding machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this double-end stub mill features a 1/32 inch (0.0313 inch) cutting diameter and a 3/64 inch (0.0469 inch) length of cut. The 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining edge strength. With two flutes and a bright/uncoated finish, this tool is well suited for machinists who need a small-diameter end mill capable of handling ferrous and high-temperature alloy workpieces without requiring a coated tool.
This end mill is used in vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC milling operations where fine detail work or tight-tolerance slotting and profiling is required. The stub length configuration keeps tool deflection to a minimum at small diameters. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. The double-end design provides two usable cutting ends, extending overall tool life between changes. It is a fractional-inch series tool in the VCCCDE-C-2-30H line.
Designed for use in standard milling machines and CNC machining centers accepting a 3/16 inch shank. Suitable for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloy workpiece materials as designated by material codes P, M, K, and S.
This tool should be installed by a qualified machinist following standard tool-holding procedures for small-diameter end mills. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder that matches the 3/16 inch shank diameter to prevent runout. At this diameter, excessive feed rates or unsupported stick-out beyond what the stub length requires can lead to tool breakage.
