The VALUE COLLECTION 723-1411 is a single-end ball end mill designed for contour milling, slotting, and profiling operations on a wide range of workpiece materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it offers improved heat and wear resistance compared to standard M2 HSS tooling, making it a practical choice for harder materials and higher cutting speeds. The ball nose geometry produces a smooth, radiused cut ideal for 3D surface work and die cavities. With a 7/16 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.13 pound weight, this end mill is sized for bench machining centers, knee mills, and CNC setups where compact, precise tooling is required. No special tool holder is needed beyond a standard 1/2 inch collet or end mill holder.
This end mill is suited for job shops, tool rooms, and production machining environments handling ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as plastics. Its right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration matches the standard spindle rotation of most vertical milling machines and machining centers. The bright, uncoated finish makes it easy to inspect for wear and works well in applications where coatings may interfere with material compatibility or where re-grinding is planned. It is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians in manual and CNC milling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers accepting a 1/2 inch shank end mill holder or collet chuck.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the end mill from its holder. Ensure the shank is fully engaged in the collet or holder to the minimum recommended grip depth before tightening. Inspect the cutting edges and shank for damage prior to each use, and confirm the holder is rated for the intended RPM and feed rate for the material being cut.
