The VALUE COLLECTION 723-1127 is a cobalt square end mill designed for metal removal in demanding machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat and wear resistance needed when cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys. The tool features a 1-5/16 inch (1.3125 inch) cutting diameter with a 1-5/8 inch length of cut, a 30-degree helix angle, and a bright/uncoated finish. With 2 spiral flutes and a right-hand cutting direction, it is suited for roughing and finishing passes on a wide range of ferrous workpieces. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users of this end mill in vertical milling and CNC machining operations.
This end mill is appropriate for use in job shops, production machining environments, and maintenance operations where steel and high-temp alloys are regularly machined. The single-end configuration and regular length designation make it a straightforward fit for standard vertical knee mills, manual milling machines, and CNC machining centers equipped with appropriate collet or end mill holders. Its center-cutting capability allows it to be used for plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot milling. No coolant-through feature is present, so external coolant application is recommended when cutting abrasive or heat-sensitive materials.
Designed for use in standard milling machine spindles and CNC machining centers accepting a 3/4 inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys (material codes P, M, K, S).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before mounting or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder matched to the 3/4 inch shank diameter and confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Always verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter before engaging the cut.
