The VALUE COLLECTION 723-1053 is a single-end, square-profile cobalt end mill designed for material removal in machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers elevated heat and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling, making it well-suited for interrupted cuts and tougher workpiece materials. The cutter measures 0.625 inches in diameter with a 1.3125-inch length of cut, a matching 0.625-inch shank diameter, and an overall length of 3.4375 inches. Two right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle provide efficient chip evacuation and a smooth cutting action across a range of common shop materials.
This end mill is rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys, covering the most common material families encountered in general machining, toolroom, and maintenance-repair operations. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, expanding its use to slotting, pocketing, and side milling operations without requiring a pre-drilled entry point. The bright, uncoated finish is appropriate for use with cutting fluids and works effectively in applications where coated tooling is not required or preferred.
Designed for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloy workpieces. Fits any standard milling machine or machining center spindle or collet accepting a 0.625-inch shank diameter. Series VCCC-C-2 regular-length geometry.
Installation of end mills should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the collet or end mill holder. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the holder and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use and replace the tool at first signs of wear to avoid workpiece damage or tool breakage.
