The VALUE COLLECTION 722-3087 is a single-end square end mill designed for milling, slotting, and profiling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from M2 high speed steel with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, it offers improved surface hardness and wear resistance over uncoated HSS tooling. The cutter measures 7/8 inches in diameter with a 1-7/8 inch length of cut and a 4-1/8 inch overall length. Four right-hand spiral flutes at a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and a smooth cutting action. This end mill is sized for general-purpose machining work performed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is suited for conventional milling operations on a vertical or horizontal machining center, knee mill, or CNC milling machine. The regular-length geometry and 7/8 inch shank diameter make it a straightforward fit in standard ER or end mill holders of the matching bore size. The square end profile produces flat-bottomed cuts, shoulders, and slots. It is not center-cutting, so plunge cuts should be avoided. Typical applications include shoulder milling, peripheral profiling, and pocket roughing where a center-cutting entry is not required.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or standard end mill for use in any milling machine or machining center equipped with a holder accepting a 7/8 inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists using an appropriate end mill holder or collet chuck rated for the 7/8 inch shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before loading or changing tooling. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after seating the tool, as excessive runout accelerates wear and degrades surface finish. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling manufacturer guidelines for speeds and feeds appropriate to the workpiece material.
