The VALUE COLLECTION 722-3065 is a single-end square end mill designed for milling flat-bottomed slots, pockets, and contour profiles in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Ground from M2 high speed steel and coated with titanium nitride (TiN), it delivers solid wear resistance and edge retention across general-purpose machining operations. The tool features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, four spiral flutes at a 30-degree helix angle, and a right-hand cut with right-hand flute orientation. The TiN coating reduces friction and extends tool life compared to uncoated HSS tooling. This end mill is a standard choice for manual mills, knee mills, and CNC machining centers running moderate cutting parameters.
This end mill is suited for job shops, toolrooms, and production environments where a reliable general-purpose HSS end mill is needed for steel, aluminum, cast iron, and similar materials. The 1/2 inch shank mounts directly in standard end mill holders, collet chucks, and Weldon-flat arbors commonly found in vertical machining centers and Bridgeport-style knee mills. With a 1-5/8 inch length of cut and a 3-5/8 inch overall length, it handles shallow to medium-depth milling passes without excessive tool deflection.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or stock end mill compatible with any machine tool spindle accepting a 1/2 inch straight shank via collet, end mill holder, or Weldon-style arbor.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully powered down and locked. Confirm shank runout with a dial indicator after mounting to minimize tool deflection and premature edge wear. Because this tool is non-centercutting, avoid direct plunge milling — use a ramping or helical entry toolpath or pre-drill a pilot hole. Follow machine tool manufacturer recommendations and applicable shop safety standards when setting speeds and feeds for the workpiece material.
