The VALUE COLLECTION 722-3053 is a single-end, 4-flute square end mill designed for milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Manufactured from M2 high speed steel and finished with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, it offers improved surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The cutting diameter is 5/8 inches with a 1-3/8 inch length of cut, making it well suited for slot milling, profiling, and shoulder milling at moderate depths. The right-hand cutting and right-hand spiral flute geometry evacuates chips efficiently during conventional milling passes. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC setup technicians in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is appropriate for general-purpose milling in manual knee mills, CNC vertical machining centers, and similar machine tools. The 1/2 inch shank diameter fits standard ER, R8, and direct-mount collet systems commonly found in both manual and CNC equipment. The regular-length series designation (VC-HSS-4-TN) indicates a standard reach profile without extended neck geometry, keeping deflection low in typical depth-of-cut applications. It is not center-cutting, so it is not suited for plunge entry cuts directly into solid material.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or production square end mill for use in milling machines and machining centers accepting a 1/2 inch shank collet or toolholder.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the collet or toolholder. Torque the collet nut to the toolholder manufacturer's specification using the appropriate spanner wrenches. Because this end mill is not center-cutting, always enter the workpiece from the side or pre-drill a starting hole before engaging a full-width plunge cut.
